ABOUT THIS SEMINAR

Women in Practice (#WIP): No Time for FaceTime

As women lawyers, many of us manage competing demands from various sources such as our families, clients, the court, professional commitments and non-work related activities.

What alternative work arrangements can we adopt to meet these competing demands? Common examples in other industries include flexible hours, working from home and compressed work weeks. But how feasible are these arrangements in the context of lawyering, especially given that ours is ultimately a service industry? How can we leverage on technology increase the workability of these alternative work arrangements?

In this seminar, we examine these issues and many more. Perhaps, an answer will emerge as to whether we should find time for face time or if it is just a major waste of time. The panel discussion will be conducted under Chatham House Rule.
